Ethic Support Team
TU Research Ethics Coordination supports researchers and lecturers at TU Wien in questions regarding research ethics and research integrity. In general, the central concern is not to cause harm to humans, animals, the environment, or society in or through research activities. Achieving and maintaining the highest standards for research ethics, including research integrity, are central responsibilities of research performing organizations and institutions of higher education today.
Since 2020 TU Wien has been testing a concept of a Research Ethics Committee (Pilot REC) based on peer review. Currently, any research that involves human participation can be submitted to peer review. Submission is voluntary.
Dr. Marjo Rauhala (TUW Research Ethics Coordinator) and Prof. Marchetti-Deschmann (Co-Coordinator MatureTissue) have experience in research ethics and will carefully monitor the progress of MatureTissue.
